Snatched At Birth

Snatched At Birth

Most of us will probably never know what it’s like to be kidnapped and taken from your family at  birth and raised as a member of another family without any knowledge of it having happened until sometime much later in life, if at all.  Yet, we have heard of such things happening and can’t imagine what that would be like.

Interestingly enough, though, we have all been victims of such from a spiritual perspective.  God’s original intent was for all of us to be in His family.  However, because Adam’s sin separated us from God (Romans 5:12), Satan was able to take all of us from our family of original intent to be a part of his family; thus we were snatched at birth and raised as enemies of God (Ephesians 2:1-3).  Are you still living as an enemy of God or have you discovered your true identity?   Who are you, really?

The results of the DNA test (the Word of God) are in, revealing your true identity.  It’s been  confirmed that you are spirit, created in the image and likeness of God (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Genesis 1:27) not in the image and likeness of Satan.   Have you made a decision to live in your true identity or are you still living in the identity given you by your kidnapper?

Do you know that everything Satan ever told you are only lies?  You are not worthless and insignificant.   You are a fearfully and wonderfully made masterpiece with purpose (Ephesians 2:10; Psalm 139:14).  You’re not average.  You are created in the image and likeness of almighty God.  You are a born leader, created to rule this earth (Genesis 1:28).

Like Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan and grandson of King Saul, you may have been hiding out in Lodebar (considered a place of nothingness) because the circumstances of life, what you’ve done or not done in life; what people have done or not done regarding you, where you were born, your family of origin,  how you look, etc. . . may have you feeling like you, too, have been dropped in life and you are lame as a result.  You may even be physically lame.  However, none of those things define who you are unless you allow them to.  God says differently.  He says you are an overcomer, more than a conqueror.  Who are you going to believe?  Lodebar has nothing for you anymore.  Take your place in the palace and dine at the table with the King of

Kings (2 Samuel 9).   It’s not too late to be who you were created to be!

However, the only way for that to happen is for you to understand that although Jesus has paid the ransom for you to be released from your kidnapper, you have to agree that Jesus is the only one able to pay the cost for you to be released (John 14:6).  You must accept His offer of salvation.  You must be born again (John 3:3).   Have you accepted His offer of freedom to now be a part of your new originally intended family (the family of God)?

Upon acceptance of His offer you are given a personal escort (the Holy Spirit) who comes to live within you, guaranteeing your release.(Ephesians 1:13)  It is only through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that you are able to operate in your true identity; in the image and likeness of God (Acts 1:8).

Yes,  you can actually operate in the character of God!  You can reason like God and be His representative here on earth. (2 Peter 1:3-4,Colossians 3:10; Romans 8:29; 1 Corinthians 2:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20-21).

This was God’s original plan for humanity so we could rule over the earth on His behalf (Genesis 1:26). God makes things happen just through speaking.  As His children we have that same power and authority(Mark 11:23; Ephesians 1:19-20). We are able to do the things that he did and even greater (John 14:12).  The key to operating in your true identity is first to become His child by being born again and secondly to live a righteous life in obedience to God;walking in step with the Holy Spirit.

Is this the life you’re currently experiencing?  If not, are you tired of living a subpar or mediocre life? You are the one who determines whether you live out your true identity.  God is waiting on you.  If it weren’t possible He never would have said it; God doesn’t lie.  Make the decision today to live your best life!
