God promises to give you a new heart

God promises to give you a new heart

God says, “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by renewing your mind, so that you may prove God’s will, that which is good, acceptable, and perfect. Rom. 12:1,2. So, God promises to give you a new heart and a new spirit. God also promises to put His Spirit within you.

Some practical ways of renewing your mind according to God’s word are.

  1. You must treasure the word of God in your heart.
  2. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.
  3. The mind of the discerning acquires knowledge,
  4. And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Paul revealed an example of setting one’s mind on things above, not earthly things. Paul said, “Whatever were gains to me, I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

Moreover, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in a Christ—the righteousness that comes from God based on faith.

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participate in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death and attaining the resurrection from the dead.

Not that I have already obtained all this or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Phil. 3:7-12

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17

From the moment you are born, your mind starts gathering data and knowledge through your senses. For example, you learn from touch that heat can cause pain, so you become cautious around heat.

You have a subconscious and conscious mind. The difference between the two is that your belief system is stored in the subconscious mind. It is the seat of your emotions, will, intellect, and reasoning. That’s who you really are, the hidden mind.

The conscious mind filters information through your belief system and downloads what it deems essential to the subconscious mind.

Some practical steps to renew your mind based on the word of God are:

  1. Programming your mind in what you believe. 2 Cor. 10:5
  2. Establishing your heart in what you believe. Luke 6:45
  3. Develop your speech based on what you believe. James 3:2

Scriptures teach that the mouth speaks out of the heart, the subconscious mind. This is why we have to deal with our belief system.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander. These are what make a man `unclean.’ Matt. 15:19

To build a new belief system based on God’s word, we must develop a new way of thinking based on God’s word concerning life and truth.

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth. God says,” You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32

The process of renewing one’s mind according to God’s word is:

  • Allow the Bible to explain itself.

The importance of allowing the Bible to explain itself is because God said, Order on order, order on order, Line upon line, line upon line.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Prov. 3:5-8

Reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation three times in six months is important because it allows the word of God to be stored in your subconscious mind.

Having a biblical perspective and belief system as a born-again believer is essential. Our biblical perspective guides us in building a life and community that represents the kingdom of heaven here on earth based on the word of God.  Heb. 1:3

This provides a distinct identity for us as born–again believers. These biblical truths and perceptions are the only foundation for spiritual unity, growth, and oneness of mind, where everyone operates in unconditional love, which requires no change but inspires change.

Our biblical perspectives are our focus as we establish the kingdom culture that keeps us out of the world system. This is the standard of the born-again believer, which produces our reality, the only reality that matters.

Our biblical perspectives are necessary for the formation and maintenance of kingdom culture. As believers who no longer conform to the world system, we are developing a culture representing God’s kingdom.

Having a biblical perspective and belief system means seeing things, not how the world sees them but how the Lord says they are.

Everything begins with your belief system. Your belief system is a set of beliefs or principles that help you interpret your everyday reality, understand, organize, and make sense of the world.

Unfortunately, everything you have learned since coming into the world is based on a fallen world system of wisdom established by Satan.

However, the world, through its wisdom, did not come to know God. If they had understood, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Therefore, God says, “If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God.  1 Cor. 3:18,19

This belief system will be the standard for evaluating, judging, and validating our life experiences, and it will provide the standard for what is acceptable and what is not.

Our biblical perspective explains how and why we do things as we do. These principles and perspectives will be passed along from generation to generation through our testimonies, scripture, training, teaching, and lifestyles.

This gives the kingdom structure and provides security, stability, peace of mind, clarity, and total assurance that you are in line with God in your life and service to God and humanity. You have a sense of overwhelming confidence that you are in line with God and following God according to His word.

The word of God provides the foundation and standard for evaluating, judging, and validating our life experiences.

It is the standard by which we measure events and circumstances in the kingdom community and provides the standard for what is accepted and what is not.

Before being born again, your life is set according to your belief system, which determines your quality of life. It is what holds you in the state that you are in.

Unfortunately, the mind of humanity has been programmed to love things created rather than God the creator. Rom. 1: 21-25

Therefore, you must program your mind not to love this world or the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.

The world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions.

These are not from the Father but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:15-17

This deceptive world system encourages humanity to determine one’s worth by one’s possessions and status. This worldly evaluation of oneself has created an identity crisis in most people’s lives.

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. The word for heart is the spirit of the mind. It is the subconscious; God calls it the hidden man of the heart. It is the part of the mind where you store the ideas you have accepted as truth. Prov. 23:7

When you read the word heart in the bible, it usually talks about your mind. When David said oh Lord, create in me a new heart and renew in me a new spirit.

The word spirit is a small “s; it means attitude. David said my sin is a product of my ideas that I allowed to take root. I need you to purify my heart and change my mind and thinking system.

Every sin you ever committed began with a thought. You cannot sin by mistake; it is impossible. Sin results from a thought or an idea you are allowed to take root.

So, David said create in me a clean heart. Clean out my thought deposits. He said my beliefs are causing me to sin, change me; I have become my thoughts. God promises to give you a new heart.

That is why when you were born-again, God gave you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. He took out your stony, stubborn heart and gave you a tender, responsive heart. And He put His Spirit in you so you will follow His decrees and carefully obey His regulations. Ezek. 36:26,27

You can listen to information, and it just goes through your conscious mind, but those you grab onto, pull down and keep get stored in your subconscious, becoming a belief you trust.

You will only change when your belief system changes. So, hopefully, you have given your life to the Lord to do the most challenging thing in the world: change your own belief system.

Scriptures say, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. I have sought You with all my heart; do not let me wander from Your commandments.

I have treasured Your word so that I may not sin against You. Blessed are You, LORD; teach me Your statutes. With my lips, I have told of all the ordinances of Your mouth.

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Deal generously with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word. Open my eyes so that I may behold wonderful things from Your Law. I am a stranger on the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me. Psalm 119:9-19
