In April of 1983, I had an encounter with God. God informed me that I was at the point of no return. I had to decide that night to serve Him, or my chances of recovery were nil to none. Sin had mastered me. It was a Friday night, and I was planning another weekend of partying and vice. That night I was born into the family of God as a royal priest, part of a holy nation, God's very own possession. God has called me out of the darkness into his marvelous light. As a result, I can fulfill God’s purpose and will for my life.

I once believed that success in the kingdom of God was characterized by physical and material accomplishments and possessions; the more, the merrier.

I discovered that success in the kingdom of God is being able to make decisions that align with God’s word in all situations and circumstances is what qualifies as success in the kingdom of heaven.  

This aligns with God’s objective of transforming us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. Through this practice, I discovered that you can remain happy at all times because you control the outcome of your state of mind and well-being.
