Embrace Your Spiritual Power
Now that you know who God created you to be; and understand your values you need to understand how to operate in your kingdom authority to practice self-control and establish yourself as God’s representative to the spiritual realm. 1 Thess. 4:3-8
Authority is the key because spiritual character is not measured by the impressiveness of words, but in the power of the life. (Matt. 7:21-23).
The key to taking control of your life is taking control of your fleshly emotions because
those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom. 8:1-8, Eph. 5:1-5 The flesh is your unredeemed humanity.
When you accepted Jesus as your Lord signifying your new birth; “YOU” spirit got saved however, the influences of your unredeemed humanity are still programmed in your mind.
Sin is still programmed in your unredeemed humanity because your soul which is the seat of your emotions, thoughts, beliefs, and values did not get saved, it is being saved.
This influence of sin is manifested through your human desires which are influenced by the world’s offer of physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions, stimulate by your five senses.
It is through the human desires and our own lust that Satan carries us away from God toward sin. James 1:12-15.
We must understand that everything that happens in the physical realm is the result of what’s happening in the spiritual realm by spirits. 2 Chron. 18:21, 1 Kings 22: 21-23
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore, we must be able to recognize the spirits at work in our lives and circles of influence. 1John 4:1
So, kingdom authority is where the born-again believer rules over the spiritual realm, manifesting itself in the physical realm. Eph. 6: 12-17
Therefore, you must understand what authority you have and how to operate in it. This is crucial since God’s authority is the only authority that Satan and his demons will submit to. (Mark 3:13,14, Luke 10:17-20)
I. Establishing Kingdom Authority
God gave man this world to rule as His ambassador to establish His kingdom presence here on earth.
God, giving man rule over the creation, limited His involvement to certain established sovereign boundaries concerning the affairs of humanity.
God did this to respect the free will he gave man to make his own decisions.
Therefore, God responds to life-based on the decisions you make as you react to life, whether for good or for bad.
Operating in kingdom authority is the missing piece in the religious community’s struggle against Satan and his dark forces. (2 Tim. 2:5).
Authority is the power to give orders and get it obeyed or in other words it is the power to make decisions.
The following study will give a clear understanding of kingdom authority principles and how to operate in it.
- What is kingdom authority? Look at Luke 7:8, Luke 10:19, Eph. 1:21
Kingdom Authority means legitimate power, which has been approved by God in accordance with His Word and should not be taken lightly. At the same time, if used appropriately, it can lead to great success. Acts 9:11-16
- What is the origin of the kingdom authority? Look at Psalm 8:4-6:
It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. 2 Cor. 3:5,6
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 2 Cor. 4:7
- What is the jurisdiction of our kingdom authority? Look at (2Cor. 10:3-Eph. 6:12, 1 Cor. 3:21-23)
As born-again believers, our tongues have a lot of power and authority over every name that can be named. Prov. 18:21
- How do you use this authority as it pertains to the church? Look at Titus 2: 15. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Rebellion against the truth must be dealt with in the church. We must remember that the church is the pillar and protector of the truth of the Word of God. Believers have a responsibility to oppose false teachers and factious members within the church. (1Cor. 5: 9-13; 6:1-20)
- What attitude must you have in exercising your authority? Look at Zech. 3:2; Jude 1:9; 2Tim. 2:24-26
We must honor God in all that we do and reveal Him as holy before the people. (Num. 20:7-12) We must never act as if we are operating in our own authority.
Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.” Considering the ‘powerful force’ of the words we utter, we must discipline ourselves to speak in a way that conveys respect, gentleness, and humility.
Summary:
As a believer, your God-given authority empowers you to execute God’s will in heaven and earth. (Matt.18:18, John 14:13)
II. Renewing the Mind: https://christ-likeministriescommunity.com/
Now that “YOU” spirit has been reconnected to God through the Holy Spirit. It is time to reconnect your mind with “YOU,” spirit.
Reconnecting the mind with “YOU, Spirit will bring unitary consciousness between mind, spirit, and body, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.
Wholeness and health are related to your trinity – namely, body, mind, and spirit (consciousness, reality); these three must be in agreement.
Beloved, I pray that in all respects, you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2
God gave us our mind to store knowledge in order to develop the principles and truths that must be practiced.
The practice of these truths develops the attitudes, habits, beliefs, and ideas that will allow one to represent God’s character through one’s lifestyle.
God gives knowledge and grace to those that search the scriptures and wait at Wisdom’s door; and power against sin to those that resist it.
Being self-aware and noticing how you are behaving in the moment is a really important spiritual skill that most of us have not mastered.
Therefore, you must establish fundamental beliefs about yourself in your mind based on the unchangeable Word of God!
To accomplish this, God gave all humanity a mind to develop thinking patterns based on God’s Word concerning life and truth, with which we are to evaluate our daily life experiences. Rom. 12: 1,2
This provides the foundation and standard for the evaluation, judgment and validating of our life experiences and it provides the standard for what is acceptable and what is not.
Programming your mind in God’s truth concerning life and truth is crucial to understanding who and what sort of person you have become since birth, and why you relate to others the way you do. Rom. 3:9-18
This allows you to determine what changes have to be made in your mind to represent God in your life. (Rom. 12: 1-3, Eph. 4:17-32)
The goal is to experience oneness with God. It is not just a feeling and knowing we are all one in an intellectual way.
In other words, we must now get into the very character of God to think like He thinks.
As the scriptures teach, a man is as he thinks. This is what we must do as children of God. God is love. Gal. 5: 16-25, Eph. 5:1,2
In fact, we need to go beyond physical emotional experience to become one with God. Emotions have to be controlled or they will lead us into sinful behavior.
Godly living is the goal and the Word of God, not emotions, produce Godly living.
When we can go beyond the senses and emotions that we use to experience life, we can then experience spiritual reality.
We are told in Eph.4:23,24 to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
To truly grasp the thought of reprogramming your mind you must understand that your mind is not you. The mind is a tool for storing knowledge, it does not create knowledge.
When we operate in our spiritual purpose and identity, we change the atmosphere and the culture. We are called to be salt and light.
Both of those things change their surroundings. One brings flavor and preservation and the other brings clarity.
We have the power to influence the world for Christ! Matt. 5:16
When we talk about the power of “YOU” we are referring to your faith in you in Christ
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13
We must start speaking life into our lives. Prov. 18:20, 21: Remember as a man thinks so is, he.
The objective is to stay spiritually minded. Honoring God in everything we think, say believe, and do. This is self-control.
- What does God say about you? Look at 1 Cor. 2:12, 13,15, 16
When you start to operate on God’s truth about the matter truthfully, you will begin to see the supernatural start to enter into the battle to intervene in your matter to bring you victory.
- Who are you? Look at Gen. 1: 26; Rom. 7:21,22, 1 Cor. 11:7

The LORD has made everything for His purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil. Prov. 16:1-3
Love is the characteristic that holds everything together. (2 Cor. 5:14,15) For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all. Therefore, all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
Faith is the characteristic that makes it all happen. (Heb. 11:6) And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Faith Building:
Heb. 11: 1: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen
1 John 5:14,15: This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
This is not the kind of faith most believers have; they only have saving faith. Living by faith brings heaven to you.
Being self-aware and noticing how you are behaving in the moment is a really important spiritual skill that most of us have not mastered

Zech. 4:6: Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.
