the Church of God

Now, you are Christ’s body, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone.

The word church here is the Greek word ecclesia, which means the called-out ones. He is referring to people, not a building. Church has nothing to do with a building.

God put all things in subjection under Jesus’ feet and made Him head over all things to the church, Jesus’ body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

So then, you are no longer strangers and foreigners. Still, you are fellow citizens with the saints and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone.

The whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you are also being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

God said, “I searched for a man among them who would build up a wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land so that I would not destroy it, but I found no one. Ezek. 22:30

The church consists of people who will serve as an agency through which God intends to reestablish His rulership on earth. It is the pillar and support of the truth. 1 Tim. 3:14

Now you are Christ’s body and, individually, parts of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, administrations, and various kinds of tongues. 1 Cor. 12:27,28

God said, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now, I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and heart will be there perpetually. 2 Chron. 2:14-16 God’s purpose for the church is……
